Facebook is working so hard to bring Free Basic Internet service in various country and from Today Facebook Brings Internet.org : Free Internet Service in India.
Internet.org was launched on August 20, 2013 and has till now provided services more than 150 million people total across Africa and Latin America.
Internet.org is a service for those who haven’t yet received the benefits of the information superhighway.
Mark Zuckerberg through Facebook announced the introduction of Internet.org and tells The initiative will begin offering services on the Reliance network in the states of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala and Telangana. The users will now have free data access to more than three dozen services.
Internet.org is in partnership with Facebook and six mobile phone companies, namely Samsung, Ericsson, MediaTek, Microsoft, Opera Software, and Qualcomm. It is one of the initiatives along with Google’s Project Loon and Space-Internet plans by Tesla founder Elon Musk. They intend to reach the last 3 Billion people untouched by the internet.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg dreams that one day everyone is going to connect to the Internet and it serves each and everyone in a good way.
This is really a great step by Mark, now we can access free Internet in India but now its better if Reliance provide nice Internet speed 😛
As You must be on the Reliance network to use Internet.org. If you’d like to access these websites for free, use a SIM card from Reliance but till now Reliance GSM user’s unable to access the service maybe it take effect in few hours.
